Although tattoos are regarded as being ‘permanent’ the truth is that nowadays, there is one method for removing them that is immensely successful, and thus it is actually quite conceivable that you could simply remove a tattoo that you don’t want. Still – this process is costly, and so it would be silly to dismiss the idea of getting a tattoo as one that requires a lot of thought simply because there is a viable removal technique.

Admittedly, no matter how hard you may mull over whether or not you want to get a tattoo, the fact of the matter remains that sometimes, you’ll still just want to remove one – for whatever reason.

Perhaps it was a tattoo you thought you wanted but didn’t turn out right. Perhaps it was a tattoo that you once loved, but have slowly grown to hate. Perhaps it is even a tattoo that reminds you of something that you’d rather forget. Whatever your reason for wanting to remove a tattoo, you can do it now through a process known as laser tattoo removal.

In a nutshell, this process uses a laser to break up pigmentation within the skin that can then be discarded by your body’s natural immune system. Or, in other words, it breaks down the ink and then causes it to go away.

Really, laser tattoo removal is incredibly effective, and the only downside right now is the fact that it can cost you an arm and a leg. To be honest, it is probably going to be far more expensive than getting a tattoo in the first place.

If you decide you don’t want a tattoo though, and you’re absolutely certain about it, just head over to the nearest place that offers tattoo removals and book yourself in for a treatment. In just a few hours, you could be tattoo-free!

Once your tattoo has finally been completed, it would be understandable if you’re in a hurry to rip off the bandage and show it off to your friends and family. However before you do this you should remember: That bandage is there for a reason.

Despite the fact that tattoos have changed by leaps and bounds in recent times, the bottom line is still that you’re actually hurting your skin as you implant ink within it. As such, when your tattoo is done what you’re left with is an open wound, and this needs to be taken care of in the long term and the short term.

For the present, leave the bandage on for at least 5 to 6 hours or so. During this time you might notice that it starts to ooze, and if you do, don’t worry too much. A little bit of oozing is normal, and it is part and parcel of the healing process. Having the bandage on will protect your wound from bacteria and other infections, and so you definitely don’t want to remove it.

After you do remove your bandage, the very first thing that you should do is wash off the wound and tattoo. Be careful not to scrub the area in question though, as it is still going to be pretty sore, and brushing would just serve to worsen it. Also, try to use lukewarm water as far as possible as this will have a ‘calming’ affect on your skin.

Dry off the area afterwards, being careful once again not to scrub or use any rough motions. Just dab on it lightly instead.

Having done all this, you won’t need to reapply a bandage. Just let the tattoo dry out completely, and then dab on some antibacterial cream instead.

That’s it! That’s pretty much everything you need to know about what to do immediately after your tattoo is done!

Great, so you have your first tattoo all done and sorted out! Are you happy with it? Do you think that it looks great on you? Most importantly: Would you like to try to add more tattoos to your skin’s surface.

Very often, people find that after they have their first tattoo, the floodgates are open and pretty soon they’re planning out how to get their second. If you feel that you’re in exactly the same shoes as this, then there are a few things that you would want to consider before you go ahead and get yet another tattoo.

For the most part, it is now going to be necessary that you figure out whether you want a distinct and completely new tattoo, or whether you want something that mingles in with your previous tattoos and thus amplifies the affects.

No matter which type of tattoo you actually desire, the one thing that you need to be certain of is the fact that you’re now going to really and truly be adding yet another non-removable tattoo onto your skin. Don’t let the emotional high that you may be feeling right now rush you into getting yet another tattoo that you finally end up regretting later.

If you are totally committed to the idea of getting more tattoos though, all you need to do is continue to pursue it in just the same way you pursued your first tattoo. Keep on going and you’d be amazed just how much is possible if you combine two tattoos together.

End of the day, when all is said and done, a true tattoo enthusiast will slowly but surely cover their skin with tattoo after tattoo. While there isn’t anything wrong with this, it is still soemthing that is very far off, and so you needn’t worry about that just yet.

Even after your tattoo is done and you’ve come home and removed the bandage, the truth is that you’re only just getting started with the post-tattoo care that needs to be undertaken. Sure, the tough first 10 hours or so may be done and over with, and your tattoo may already be healing very well, but the fact of the matter is that there’s still much more ahead of you.

For starters, you’re going to be coming face to face with the most incredible itch that you’ve ever felt in your lifetime. Although this itch is a natural part of the healing process, it can be tremendously annoying and at times you’ll just want to give in and have a good scratch. When that happens, be sure that you stop yourself before you actually start to scratch!

Also, you should definitely avoid any prolonged exposure to water for that area of your skin, as it could cause the scabs to peel off. Some things, like swimming pools, should be avoided completely due to the fact that they’re a huge source of infections.

While you’re dodging swimming pools for the time being, you should also dodge any type of exercise that could make you sweat and irritate the skin area around your tattoo.

By taking care of your tattoo properly in these first few days after it is done, you’re going to be directly influencing the manner in which your tattoo turns out. If you were to pick at the scabs on your tattoo, you’d find that you might risk scarring and other nasty options that could stand in the way of your tattoo turning out exactly as you hoped it would.

Don’t you think that would be a crying shame?

Armed as you are with your first tattoo, you’ve just joined the ranks of an ancient fraternity. If you’re scratching your head and wondering what we mean, then just keep reading, because you’re about to find out just what having a tattoo actually means!

Since the dawn of time, tattoos have been used for a slew of purposes.

Generally, they started off by being symbols, either of rank, status, or even more negative symbols such as punishments, slavery, or outcasts.

Various civilizations and various religions across the ancient world had their own systems of tattoos that were used to denote vastly different things. Sometimes these things were positive, and at other times they were less so.

Put quite simply though, tattoos have a long and prominent role in the history of civilization, and that is now something that you can proudly say that you’re a part of. Granted, in today’s day and age tattoos are more decorative than anything else, but that just goes to show how the times have changed.

As with ages long past, you’ll find that having a tattoo still seems to automatically qualify you to a group of tattoo enthusiasts that all share a passion for having brilliant patterns all over their skin. While you’re no where near that level of enthusiastic, it is still refreshing to see one who is.

Some puritan enthusiasts embrace the history of tattoos from a particular region, and try to ensure that each and every construct of theirs bears the hallmarks of that region’s style. If you wish to do so, this is up to you, but be sure to pick a region with a history that strikes you as engaging.

Knowing what happened throughout the ages with tattoos is definitely interesting in itself.
